Program Description
The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program offered by Kindred Hospital in La Mirada, California is accredited by ASHP. Kindred Hospital La Mirada is a renowned Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) that specializes in treating acutely ill patients with complex medical conditions and multiple comorbidities. Our focus is on delivering comprehensive, multidisciplinary care that is tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
The residency program places emphasis on key areas such as pharmacy administration, nutrition, infectious diseases, transitions of care, and pharmacy staffing, ensuring that residents receive a well-rounded clinical experience. We encourage our residents to engage in original research, and provide them with numerous opportunities to conduct and present their findings throughout the year.
Our objective is to enhance professional development, ensuring your growth as a clinical pharmacist and enhancing you for future roles for PGY2 positions and/or future career opportunities. You'll have the flexibility to select electives that align with your interests or to delve into new fields that captivate you. These skills will be invaluable across various practice areas, encompassing patient care, effective time management, prioritization, communication, resource utilization, and disease management.

Requirements
Have the following submitted via PhORCAS: Curriculum Vitae, Letter of Intent, Pharmacy School Transcript, 3 Letters of Recommendation (2 clinical preceptors and one pharmacy internship is preferred)
Pharmacist License: Matched residents must be licensed pharmacists in the state of California within 90 days of the start of the residency program
